Professional Bio
With more than 30 years of nursing experience and a Master of Science in Nursing with a pediatric concentration from the University of Maryland, I offer attorneys a powerful blend of clinical expertise, advanced assessment skills, and sharp analytical insight essential for navigating complex medical‑legal cases.
My clinical foundation was built at two of the nation’s most respected institutions. I spent five years as a Pediatric Staff Nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by extensive work at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore—as a staff nurse in pediatric rehabilitation and feeding disorders, and as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for children with special needs. For ten years, I provided advanced care to children with autism, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, ADHD, and other complex medical conditions. I also have hands‑on experience advocating for children with learning disabilities and developing Individualized Education Plans, giving me unique insight into the intersection of healthcare, education, and disability services.
My expertise extends beyond clinical practice. I served over five years as a Professor of Nursing, teaching at the associate, bachelor’s, and master’s levels. I instructed students in advanced adult medical‑surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, rehabilitation care, home health, long‑term care, and served as a preceptor for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner students. This academic leadership strengthened my ability to evaluate evidence, articulate standards of care, and communicate complex medical concepts with clarity—skills that translate directly into high‑impact legal consulting.
For the past fifteen years, I have worked as a Certified Nurse Case Manager for a major insurance organization, primarily in workers’ compensation with additional experience in general liability. I routinely evaluate medical necessity, interpret clinical documentation, coordinate care, and identify gaps or inconsistencies in treatment plans. I have extensive experience conducting medical record reviews and have testified as an expert witness in workers’ compensation cases. I also provide cost projections and cost analyses for patients with catastrophic injuries.
This unique combination of frontline pediatric practice, advanced clinical assessment, academic rigor, and insurance‑based case management allows me to translate medical records into clear, actionable insights for attorneys. I identify deviations from standards of care, uncover critical details often overlooked, and provide objective, evidence‑based analysis that strengthens case strategy and supports informed legal decision‑making.
